Magic, platforms, puzzles and unique characters: the whimsical Alice in Tim Burton - Alice in Wonderland PC Review

On March 2010 Disney Interactive Studios and Nintendo had the pleasure to present in the UK Alice in Wonderland, a videogame based on the eponymous film directed by Tim Burton.
Ever since Tim Burton made a name for himself, if there is a literary novel that he could adapt perfectly to the film is Alice in Wonderland. From aesthetics to the plot, most of the aspects go hand in hand with what Burton has done in the movies during his career. Finally we have the game of Alice in Wonderland and you will read PCGameTrek’s Alice In Wonderland pc game review below.

Alice is The Best

Very far left and the animated film produced by Walt Disney in 1951, which could see the whole story of Lewis Carroll adapted to a children’s story which dazzled everyone with his sympathy. Now, 59 years later, Disney put into the hands of Tim Burton, a director known for films grown and dark-dark atmosphere, the draft back to the big screen with Alice, leaving at will fully realize his vision of history . The result: a world of fantasy and illusion as gloomy as magical, an atmosphere that fits perfectly with both the argument, as with every one of the characters making up the work because, although not enough, the book Lewis Carroll’s original is much more adult than what everyone thinks.

Tim Burton, The Source of Inspiration

Disney Interactive Studios had the detail to bring us to Philip James, producer of the game, that we explain to the smallest detail of the game, and he did so delighted.

To begin, Philip introduced us a little in the history of film, making it clear who will be completely faithful to the original story, and then put us in the game situation, explaining that puts us 10 years after the events occurred in the film. Once exposed the concept of the game, Philip tried to explain that working with Tim Burton has been one of the best experiences he has had in this sector, he stressed that he always had the last word in deciding what and what not left in the game, as for example, the possibility that only certain characters could attack, leaving the background in terms of capacity-offensive-to players like the white rabbit (which is defended by throwing cups of tea). However, proposed to participate in the creation of places that do not appear in the film, as is the house of the March hare.

After the introduction, and known the details of the production of the title, Philip began to work with both versions. First was the PC version and Wii, aimed for an audience of approximately 8 to 12 years, a pc game that surprised from the start, showing us a very careful technical section compared to what we usually see on the Nintendo console. The title suggests as playable characters in all parts of the story except to Alice, a detail that Philip was quick to clarify, saying: “Alice is the main character in the story, but wanted to surprise the public and do something different. The first thing consumers expect the game is to control Alice. It would have been very easy to put on screen Alice jumping and collecting coins. “. After such blasphemy in a place authorized by Nintendo could not restrain the laughter of the audience, and even the guys at Nintendo who accompanied us at the time. Each of the four playable characters (the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, the Cheshire cat and the hare) possess special skills, like controlling the weather (white rabbit) or perspective (hatter), all designed to complete puzzles and riddles to find during the adventure.

One of the most popular literary works adapted from the story will also be represented in the art of gaming. A release that relate to the movie but not entirely based on it. A network playable most varied and where the wise choice of characters will influence the fate of Alice.

The acclaimed and popular story of Alice in Wonderland will soon have both new movie adaptation, as well as their representation in relevant pc game. The Lewis Carroll’s original story has been molded under the imagery of Tim Burton and his particular vision of that world. The original literary work was created by the British economist and writer Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, Lewis Carroll or for friends. In its original story Alice in Wonderland invitation, under a satirical comedy with many of his characters in different stories created to accompany the little Alice for a world that was beyond his imagination.

Although most film to game adaptations have never overflowing with quality products, it is true that Alice in Wonderland PC Game deserves at least the guarantee of the doubt. Other adaptations have not achieved good levels of quality as the pc games gave the impression of being finalized for release fast while the film, but this time the game had much more time to be polished. Interestingly in this particular case the game does not follow the trail of the film, but has sought to draw a line in space is different but not forgetting the concept that encompasses it. So play this game we do not spoil the movie experience is not shared argument because, although some characters and locations.

An Ingenious Teamwork

We should also mention in Alice in Wonderland game review that the game is based on the use of various characters to solve puzzles and advance through the pc game. The change from one to another is instantaneous and is achieved simply by pressing a button. The set of characters to use is extensive and recognized the story itself, changing its wrapper to build aesthetically in film. The good news is that each character is independent with its own way of walking, fighting, jumping, and the exclusive special ability. We control the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, the hare, the mouse or the Cheshire cat. Among the skills highlighted is the possibility of playing with time, the change of perspective, invisibility and telekinesis.

if you wonder where Alice is, the answer is easy: after us. We must protect it and take it to safety, and its continuing redemptions, with minigame included, will blow our plans in more than one occasion. The enemies will try to kidnap her and take her to another dimension, and we, with a simple minigame, we must prevent this from happening. But far from the puzzles, which are constant, clever or even funny, we must also fight against common enemies and even with large heads. But not all characters are good in attack, in fact some can only be defended as tapping and get them to clean the screen of enemies. Learn to use the appropriate character depending on the situation, solve puzzles and avoid kidnap Alice, makes this title to position itself as an experience rich, varied, different and exciting in equal measure.
Alice in Wonderland PC Game can make a first impression of a simple childhood game or video game born in the shadow of a film premiere, but with time devoted very careful look at a product with huge potential and playable. The judicious combination of platforms, not very numerous, with the ingenious puzzle solving that seizing upon the inherent characteristics of consoles from Nintendo, is complemented by the charm of the story and the imagination of Tim Burton. Just want to remind you that the ESRB rating of this game is everyone, so you can play this with your kids as well:)

The game will debut alongside the film on April 9th 2010 (UK) on the Wii, Nintendo DS and PC.
